Buenos Aires, November 18 (NA) – Ignacio “Nacho” Contreras, a councilor-elect for La Libertad Avanza in San Vicente, will be released in the coming hours after being detained on a gender violence complaint linked to a serious incident that occurred on October 18 at his farm “Mi Viejo,” located on Camino Once Bocas.
According to the complaint accessed by the Argentine News Agency, during a heated argument with his partner, the official is said to have fired at least two shots from a firearm. His case continues to cause strong repercussions in the region's political and judicial spheres, and it is expected that the next procedural steps will be defined in the coming days.
At the scene, the police seized a 9mm pistol and several spent casings, which were incorporated into the case file. After the incident became known, Contreras was expelled from La Libertad Avanza, which even publicly requested that the official “not take his seat.”
In recent hours, a video recorded inside the prison began circulating on social media, showing Contreras—still detained—receiving the news that he will regain his freedom. In the recording, he is visibly emotional, while other inmates in the pavilion celebrate the news with applause and shouts.
In addition to his political role, Contreras is a businessman and owner of the “Lácteos Mi Viejo” dairy chain.
